Back Home Once Again

This summer has gone by incredibly fast (have I said that before?). Two days ago we arrived home once again from a family trip, so now summer is officially over and fall is beginning. All throughout this summer, God has worked in incedible ways and He is to be praised! Even in the difficult times, God has been right there and He is continuing to guide and direct.
Over this last week, my remaining plane tickets have been bought, a "rough" packing list has been organized, and the count-down is beginning as I have just over 2 weeks before I leave for Peru. I want to say once again - we serve a faithful and provident Father!
Right now, I would greatly appreciate prayer in the area of my eyes being focused completely on Christ and not swaying to any other distraction. Lately it has been easy for me to get distracted and discouraged. Just yesterday, our church service was cancelled due to a rather large storm in this area, so we had time together as a family praising Him instead. During that time, God reminded me that He is my strength and my song - He is the only reason I am to live for.
Well, I'll be updating this thing (hopefully) a bit more frequently as Sept. 14th comes closer. Sorry for the lack of stories or pictures yet, but I'm still trying to figure out how I want to use this and such. Have a great week!

"Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth. Worship the LORD with gladness; come before Him with joyful songs. Know that the LORD is God. It is He who made us, and we are His; we are His people, the sheep of His pasture. Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His name. For the LORD is good and His love endures forever; His faithfulness continues through all generation."

Preparation

This summer has gone by so  quickly; I can't believe it's almost over already. This whole last week was full of  helping with VBS (Vacation Bible School). Let me tell you, God worked (just as He is now) in so many ways! I get excited just thinking about all the children and adults who attended and heard the Gospel and saw God's love for them! Helping children and anyone else learn about and grow in their relationship God has to be one of my favorite things. :)

Anyway, summer is winding down and with that comes even more details concerning my upcoming trip to Peru. On Thursday we officially bought my round trip tickets to and from Peru. The dates are Sept. 14-Nov. 15. Having specific dates set, I am becoming even more excited for the things God will do! Even in buying my plane tickets, God showed His faithfulness. When we were looking, all the tickets we could find either had really long layovers in foreign countries or cost an arm and a leg. After praying about it and continuing to trust God to supply what I needed, the missionaries I'll be staying with were able to find a relatively cheap round-trip ticket with its only layover being in the states. This in itself is a huge praise!
We have been in the process of getting my schoolwork adjusted accordingly so that I will not get behind while I am gone.
Some of the main prayer requests I have for right now concern patience and waiting on God in this process. He has been so faithful in the past and has provided down to the last detail; pray that I will continually recognize all the ways He provides each and every day. Lastly, please pray as we're looking at and preparing to buy the in-country flights I'll need once I'm in Peru. Comparatively, these flights will be cheap and short, but pray that we will find ones that make the connections I need when I need to make them.
Thanks for reading this! I hope I didn't bore you too much. Have a great week!
